Philippines Protests, Risks between US-China Conflict Rise on South China Sea

The risk of the United States and China stumbling into conflict in the South China Sea increases as their military exercises increase and other countries adopt a more muscular presence at this major regional hotspot, analysts said.

“With China and the United States deploying a large number of military ships and aircraft in close proximity to each other, the risk of collisions is an ever-present danger,” Suorsa said. “And with tensions rising as high now, accidents or miscalculations are never far away.”
